[After the Kin'Corans had left and the power cap was back to normal, Estelle found herself waking up in her room. Last thing she remembered was being in the smithy, healing Yuri's wounds, when she had collapsed.

The girl sits up on her bed, lifting a hand to her forehead as she foggy memories start to catch up with her. That's right, she'd spent a lot of time running to and fro, healing people. It had... really taken a lot out of her. She supposes she must have overdone it. Also, she was really... -really- hungry.

Not knowing how long she was out, or the physical state she's in, Estelle decides to get up.

Moving to stand, Estelle quickly finds this to be a poor decision as her strength is just, not there. There's a loud thud that can probably be heard throughout the house as the girl hits the floor, followed by a moan and some mumbling]

[Later on that day, after Estelle has eaten and regained some of her strength, she will be out and about for a walk. Granted she's taking it easy, and was specifically told to not go too far or to use her powers. Thus she'll just be making a quick trip around the block as it were, not going any farther then the two bridges closest to House 12.]

I was thinking of using some of these for apple pie, but I didn't know if they were sweet enough--

Hm, I don't know. I've never made an apple pie before so I wouldn't know what sort of apple you would need. But it would be worth a try?

You've never made apple pie? [This is clearly the most shocking news ever, judging from his face.] Why not?

Well... I suppose I just never had the chance. We made many different dishes during our journey, even desserts! Like cake and sorbet.

[Don't even ask how they managed that while traveling, but they did.]

Oh, I understand.

[Oh dear, she said the magic word.] What kind of cake did you make? Maybe we can trade recipes.

Just a simple yellow cake with white frosting. Do you like cake?

[He must if he's asking about it.]

I love cake. Have you ever tried cakes with chocolate in them before? Or champagne flavor? Your cake sounds really good, as well.

I've tried chocolate, but I can't say I've ever had champagne flavor. My favorite is strawberry!

Strawberry cakes are delicious! Especially the ones with lots of cream.

[She laughs a little]

You must really like cake.

I do. Back home, I used to eat cake whenever I got my paycheck. Well, when I got a paycheck.

But the ones I got in the cafeteria were never as good as homemade ones.

My, that is a lot of cake! It's a wonder you didn't get sick.

It wasn't that much. My paychecks were tiny. [But that makes him think.]

Hey, what kind of job did you have?

A... job?

[She has to consider this for a moment.

I don't need a job that actually pays me, but... I am a healer.

That's means healing other people, right? Not yourself.

[He scratches the back of his neck.] You must have been lucky if you didn't need a job.

Yes, that's right.

[His next statement gives her pause. Luck? Well, she supposes so. Although it depends on how you look at the situation. But really she couldn't complain.]

Oh. Well you see, in my world I was a candidate for the Imperial throne.

[Being destined for a position like that can mean both good news and bad news. Until Tsuzuki knows which one it is, he listens cautiously, though his face betrays his surprise.]

Wow. Did you have a choice in it?

Well... not really. You see, I was confined to a castle. I didn't mind it so much, although I did long to see the outside world. I would read and dream of what it might be like. Our land had been without an emperor for some time, and I was the nominated candidate by the council. While the knights had nominated someone else. But then I met Yuri, and that changed everything.

Did the outside world surprise you?

[That name sounds awfully familiar, but he just can't place it.]

Yuri?

In many ways, yes. It's very different from what you read about in books.

[Her smile then brightens a little.]

He is a very dear friend of mine. It's because of him that I was able to see the outside world and travel. He even saved my life.

[And judging by the way she speaks of him, Yuri might be a bit more than a friend to her.]

I guess that there's not a lot of farmers and poor people that write books.

[At least, that's his experience. Back in the old days, they couldn't even read.]

He sounds like a really great guy.
