005 [Action] Another Nightmare

Estelle had been quietly kidnapped by droids just as everyone had started to regain their memories. She had been gone for several days now, and finally has returned. She's standing in the middle of the square, near the fountain. She looks to be herself at first glance. However, if anyone were to take a closer look, or knows her for that matter, she would seem a little... off.

The girl is standing there... just... standing there. Her eyes seem empty with a vacant expression. As if she's just staring into nothingness. Strange.

Those that approach her may gain no response or a nasty surprise.

((OOC: Estelle has been brainwashed! She's essentially a lifeless doll that will react very little.

Note: If anyone tries to touch her she may react violently, so be prepared for that. Think of it as Colette's condition when she was lifeless in ToS. She will be like this for nearly three days before going back to normal.

[As she runs, Patty's hand rests on the handle of her pistol. However, she doesn't dare draw it. Estelle tried to punch her just for trying to take her hand, so who knows what might happen if she starts brandishing a weapon? Still, Alexei is nearby, so she doesn't dare let her guard down.]

[While Alexei is backing away, Rita takes the time to run up to Patty's side. Her brow narrows, glaring at Alexei.]

Don't you dare lay a finger on her!

[Spock gives her a half-smile...]

This is indeed in your head. And a very beautiful image if I do say so. You must be very familiar with this tree.

The fact that you were able to come this far is a good sign. At this point, it is all a matter of taking my hand and allowing me to get you out of here....

[Spock extends his hand in invitation...]

[Yuri joins the others the moment he catches up, sending a glare Alexei's way for a quick moment before focusing on Estelle. That ... that look she had about her was familiar. And not in any kind of good way. While his hand does instinctively grasp the bit of rope holding his sword a little more tightly as he realizes this, he doesn't make any moves to draw it. The last thing he needed right now was a repeat of the Sword Stair.

He takes a quick moment to consider this situation before going back to eying Alexei suspiciously. Attacking him could ping as a threat to Estelle as well, so he decides to wait to see what Alexei does next. If he so much as twitches weirdly in Estelle's direction, though ...]

[He's making sure he's not too close to Estelle that should would try to attack and also keeping an eye on the others.]

Before you all make the wrong assumption, I found her this way and she attacked me. [Therefore, I haven't done a thing to her]

[Once she's close enough, Patty slows to a halt. She'll still keep a good ten feet distance from Estelle, fixing Alexei with a determined glare.]

She wouldn't attack outta nowhere! Did you touch her?

Ugh!

[This creep touched Estelle? Rita feels uncomfortable just being in the same town as Alexei, she doesn't want anything to do with physical contact that doesn't involve her fist and his head.

She follows Patty, but keeps running after the small girl stops. Screw Alexei, she's checking up on Estelle.]

Estelle! Are you okay!?

[If Yuri weren't so mad at everything right now, he'd probably sigh about how awkward this conversation is turning. Honestly you two. But, well, he's more concerned about getting Estelle back to the house without needing to knock her out than anything else right now.

While Patty stops with a good distance between her and Estelle, Yuri had been planning to stop somewhere in the middle of that distance. ... But then Rita just keeps going. He calls after her sharply the second he sees this.]

Rita, wait!

[At the very least, Estelle didn't appear to be armed, but he doubted Estelle needed "punching Rita in the teeth" on her conscious. ... oh and he didn't think rita wanted to get punched in the teeth or something too i guess. maybe. w/e.]

[And Rita running at her is perceived as a definite threat. Estelle turns a cold, empty stare towards the other girl and throws a vicious punch at her.]

After pondering this for a while...

[Estelle blinks and looks back to Spock.]

How... are you doing that? All of this?

[She then looks down at his outstretched hand and... is instantly reminded of Yuri. The incident back at the sword stair. She tries to go closer to him but... finds that she can't move any farther. As if there was some invisible force holding her back.]

Oh no!

[Spock quirks an eyebrow as he senses the barrier.... and interesting effect... the visual is hiding what it truly is. This condition was definitely put here by a foreign entity.]

Try to focus Miss Estelle, you have control of your mind. Simply take my hand........

[Estelle pauses and takes a deep breath as she tries to focus. Closing her eyes, she then tries to reach out for Spock's hand but... for some reason she just can't quite reach.]

I... I can't.

[Her mind clouded by the fear of Estelle being hurt, it never occurs to the mage that her friend might attack her. She disregards Yuri's call without batting an eyelash. She knew she couldn't worry about Alexei-- she would tear him to shreds if that's what it took to keep Estelle safe. She continues her run, full speed, at the princess, her hand outstretched to try and grab her.]

Estelle! Don't worry! We're here to--

[The punch connects without any resistance, the girl's knuckles digging into the bridge of her nose. At first, Rita mentally freezes, her brain rattling in her skull. However, this was quickly replaced by intense, stinging pain, the force of the blow knocking her onto her rear.

Her hands quickly shoot up to her face, covering it, as if that would make the pain dissipate quicker.]

Agh! What the hell!?

[Spock looks around him...Fascinating, the barrier is stronger than he originally credited it for.

Spock decided that he needed to take matters into his own mind... and walked forward with his hand raised.

He encountered the barrier...definitely of alien origin, and concentrated. It was slow moving and it started to hurt, like his fingers were slowly starting to burn.]

Keep concentrating Estelle, I will get you out of this.

[Dammit Rita, this is why you're supposed to listen when the lead protagonist yells your name. Yuri will head over to where she landed. He was about ready to pull out some sort of annoyed "that's why i said to stop" line, but that kind of looks painful. Estelle must've REALLY hit her hard.]

Not especially. I just didn't wanna make it -too- easy for Spock. XD

[Her eyes remain closed and she tries hard to focus while keeping her hand outstretched. She had to fight something like this before but this was... different in a way. The girl's brows furrow as her efforts increase along with the difficulty. But she trusted Spock enough to know that he would do everything he could to help her.]

[Spock keeps leaning forward, his hand burning from the extended contact with the alien barrier.

He finally takes a step forward and now the pressure is all around him, like walking through molasses.]

[Richard's just on his way in to work at Seventh Heaven when he spots a familiar form near the fountain. Unaware that she was kidnapped (or that anything is wrong at all), he approaches her with a smile.]

I haven't seen you in a while. How have you--

[And it's then he notices the empty look in her eyes and recoils somewhat, startled and confused.]

... Estelle?

[As Richard approaches, she fixes him with that lifeless stare. There is no smile, no friendly greeting as she would normally do.

While she doesn't move just yet, her body tenses as if preparing for some sort of attack.]

[Estelle concentrates as best she can, and finally manages to lean forward a bit just as Spock takes another step. Her finger tips managing to just barely touch his own.]

[Spock closes his eyes and breaths...

This is proving more difficult than he predicted.


Spock finally takes the last step forward and grabs Estelle's hand....

.....



......



...Then they are plunged into darkness once more.




[Spock opens his eyes and he is in the barracks once more... he never actually left but he leans forward to inspect Estelle's face... She is so still.]

Miss Estelle?

[And she remains still for a few more moments until finally her brows furrow as she starts to come around. Mentally reeling from what just happened.

Eventually, her green eyes blink open and she stares up at Spock. However, this time there is the light of awareness in her eyes.]

Spock?

[spohkh]

[Spock gives her a half-smile..]

Indeed. It is well that you are back.

How are you feeling?

[Half smile or not, it's still a friendly face that she's glad to see.

She then sits up, not answering his question right away and instead throws her arms around him in a hug. She tries to fight it, but ends up crying softly.]
