001 [Action] - Intro

 [ Estelle didn't exactly wake up in the most comfortable position. She was sprawled on the floor of the library, face down. Eventually she started to stir and groaned a little before pushing herself up into a sitting position. Kneeling, with her hands folded in her lap, the girl blinked a few times as she began to look around. This was an unfamiliar place, and yet not unpleasant, since she was surrounded by books. Confusion was written all over her features as she attempted to get her bearings. Just where was she anyway? Her mind was foggy and she was generally disoriented. Not to mention she looked a little silly just sitting there, having absolutely no clue what was going on. It finally occurred to her that she should maybe look around. Standing up, she took a few steps forward and peeked around a bookcase.]

[ It actually takes another moment or two before Kotomi seems to realise someone is there, slowly lifting her gaze from the book and to the other girl, blinking a few times. .. Wait, doesn't she seem... familiar..? ]

It's a story. .. A love story. [ ... ] Do you want to read it instead?

[Estelle waited patiently until she was finally noticed.]

Oh, how nice. [Love stories are some of her favorites.]

[She then shakes her head.]

No, I couldn't possibly take it from you. You should finish it.

I've already read this one before. [ as she has with many books here in the library by now. ]

So.. I don't mind letting other people read it as well. Books are the best when they can be enjoyed by a lot of people.

[Estelle's eyes light up. It was always nice to find people who shared her love for books!]

Oh yes, I agree!

[She looks at the mound of books.]

Hmm. I've already read a whole lot of books here in the library. [ since she reads too fast, for the most part.. ] It's a little sad, since I worry I might run out of them someday.

[It didn't take long for Estelle to look around and realize that there was... a lot of books. ]

My... How long has it been?

[Estelle loved to read, but she could hardly fathom how long it must have taken this girl to get through most of this library!]

I arrived here in November. Right now it's July. .. July 8th, to be specific. [ apparently she knows without having to check it anywhere. ]

Ever since I first arrived, I've been reading, so it's been from November all the way until now.

[That's... definitely impressive. She had to admire this girl's motivation to read so much.]

You must really love to read. Do you have any favorites?

I do love reading.. Reading is my hobby. [ and she smiles at that - a tiny and fond smile - while staring at the books. ]

And my favourite book is The Dandelion Girl.. have you ever heard of it?

[Clasing her hands together, Estelle smiles with enthusiasm.]

I think it might be somewhere in this library.. [ she glances around - to the high book shelves too, really. ]

But.. it's difficult to find anything here, huh.

Hm? [She follows the other girl's gaze to the top shelves.]

Well then this library just needs a little organizing! [It was rather unfortunate that books were that hard to find.]

Oh, that's right. My name is Estelle, and you are?

My name is Kotomi, Kotomi Ichinose. [ her introduction sounds a little.. awkward and mechanized, as if she practiced it for ages and always repeats it exactly like this.. ] I'm a senior from class A back home. My hobby is reading. When talking to me, please refer to me as 'Kotomi-chan'.

Kotomi-chan... [She repeats it as if committing the name to memory, but then tilts her head curiously.]

Is chan your last name? [Didn't quite seem that way considering how she used it. Plus most people didn't want to be referred to by their whole name. But you never know!]

No, my last name is Ichinose. [ although that makes her think for a moment, and slowly she realises what might actually be going on here.. ]

.. Ah, are you not familiar with honorifics?

Where I come from we use those all the time. When you attach '-chan' to someone's name, it means you're friendly with them.
