001 [Action] - Intro

[ Estelle didn't exactly wake up in the most comfortable position. She was sprawled on the floor of the library, face down. Eventually she started to stir and groaned a little before pushing herself up into a sitting position. Kneeling, with her hands folded in her lap, the girl blinked a few times as she began to look around. This was an unfamiliar place, and yet not unpleasant, since she was surrounded by books. Confusion was written all over her features as she attempted to get her bearings. Just where was she anyway? Her mind was foggy and she was generally disoriented. Not to mention she looked a little silly just sitting there, having absolutely no clue what was going on. It finally occurred to her that she should maybe look around. Standing up, she took a few steps forward and peeked around a bookcase.]

Wow, Harry, way to terrify the poor girl.

"... Sorry. Nah, it's really not so bad. If you die here, you come right back, and whenever you leave, you go back to the exact time and place you came from."

[Let's just swap terrifying with more utterly confusing! Estelle thinks she needs to sit down and so she does, on a nearby chair.]

This is quite... overwhelming.

[How can people come back from the dead?]

"... Sorry, I'm really pretty bad at this. Better to get it all out of the way early, though. Get used to it to start with, right?"

[She then shakes her head and musters a little smile.]

You're right, I'm sorry.

"Nah, it was a lot to drop on you. I should have let you breathe first.

... Hey, you didn't happen to find a book with you?"

A book?

[Well let's see... there's quite a lot of books here, but she looks around anyway. And then spots one on the floor. She gets up to go pick it up.]

This?

[And then suddenly a thought hits her.]

Oh, I'm so sorry! I haven't introduced myself. My name is Estelle, its a pleasure to meet you... mister...?

"Harry Dresden. Nice to meet you.

And I figured you'd know the book I meant- Check the front cover. It has your name on it.

Word of advice? Stick to that book, Estelle, it lets you talk to the whole village."

[And so it does. Huh.]

Really? I didn't know books could do that.

[Opening the cover, she looks through it. It was definitely a different kind of book that Estelle was accustomed to.]

How fascinating.

"Part of that wackiness the Malnosso gave us. They provided the journals. I haven't the faintest idea how it works, but you can write or talk to anybody in the village who has one."

[She flipped through a few pages before looking up again.]

Who are the Malnosso?

"One of those nine things that are scarier than getting sucked into the world. They built this village and the enclosure around it, and they can control the Shifts- randomly altered fluctuations in reality- inside of it."

[Again there was staring.]

That... does sound terrifying. They brought us here? But why?

"They didn't, the reality shifts did. The Malnosso just grabbed us on the way in.

Don't worry, though, we're working on ways to fight back."

Oh... Well if there's any way I can help. Please, let me know.

"Well, to know how you would help, I'd probably have to know how you could help."

[She giggled a little]

Yes, you're right. I use healing artes.

"Huh. Well, as it happens, I'm trying to start up a group here in the village to work with and learn about magic, so that's one thing. Also, we have a clinic in town that takes healers as well as doctors, might be something to look into."

I chuckled.

A clinic? Oh yes, I must! Thank you very much! I also wouldn't mind sharing what I know about healing and light based artes.

[Helpful Estelle is helpful.]

"Great, I'll make sure to keep you on my list of interested attendees. Did you have any other questions? I'm pretty much here all day, so if you needed anything..."
