008 [Video] Silent Return

[Some time in the late afternoon, Estelle wakes up to find herself sprawled on the snowy forest floor of Luceti. Dazed and confused, she pushes herself up and looks around. Immediately the chill hits her and she holds her arms close, shivering at a passing wind. She tries to to her feet, but dizziness quickly hits and she's on her knees once again. Its then that she sees her journal beside her.

Somewhere in her muddled thoughts she knows to open it and triggers the video feed. Those watching will see a pink haired girl with lips that are turning blue and chattering teeth. She tries to speak, but only a raspy little squeal manages to escape her throat. Green eyes widen in alarm as she tries again, but with the same results. Her hands quickly cover her mouth in shock, and in the next moment she starts waving them frantically at her journal.

Not knowing where she is or what else to do, she hopes that someone gets the message. She could really use some help right now.]

((OOC: Estelle is back from her mallynap and is temporarily mute. She's ended up in the woods not too far from the Lake House, so she's not very far from the village, but far enough to not know where she is.))

[So Alexei wanted to take the day to go out and investigate the barrier, after he got himself settled into the village. The only thing slowing him down is a very persistent black cat that's been following him for a while.]

Go bother someone else. [Does this thing have an owner or what? It kept meowing at him and he wasn't sure what it wanted.] I have no food to give you, so leave me alone already, shoo! [Cat refuses to budge. Alexei just...sighs. He is not going to be held responsible for this cat the entire trip dammit.]

[FINE. Gosh.]

Estelle had started trudging to where she hoped the village was. Clutching her journal close to her chest, and shivering against the cold, she stops when she hears... a voice?

Her eyes widen hopefully and she starts shuffling through the snow a bit faster. The girl huffing and puffing as she gets closer to the voice. She tries to call to him, but it only comes out as a strangled cry.]

[I do what I want]

[Won't have to take her too long to find him, he hasn't exactly made much progress with this cat following. Course he doesn't realize anyone was trying to find him until she was a few feet from him.

He doesn't recognize her and looked puzzled at how quickly she was moving towards him.]

Everything all right there, miss? [He'll call out, looking to her.]

[When she's able to see who exactly it is, Estelle comes to a sudden and complete stop. She stares, wide-eyed, in what could be considered fear. This was... Alexei, but there was definitely something a bit off about him. Still, Estelle takes a step back. Of all the people that she had to find her out here.]

[....Ok. He thinks she saw something behind him and turns to look for a moment. There was no one there, so why the sudden changed expression?]

Something wrong? [He'll try to walk over to her. Seem like she was panicking about something.] Is there someone chasing you, miss?

By the goddess...

[Ilyana is horrified to see someone cold, lost, and afraid, out in the winter cold.]

Where are you?! I... I'll try to help!

[She's already rushing out the door with staff, tome, and journal in hand.]

[Estelle is relieved that someone managed to see her, and it's evident on her face. However, she shakes her head at the question, not really knowing where exactly she is. She then lifts her journal and tilts it away from her to give a view of the forest.]

Shoot... I'm never going to find you like that...

[Ilyana takes out her lightning tome, working on creating a bright flash to streak through the sky.]

I'm going to create a signal of lightning in the sky, okay?! When you see it, point your journal towards it so I can try to find you, and start heading in that direction!

Power burst forth from her fingertips into the night sky. It wasn't nearly as large as she hoped it would be, but should still be spottable, even through miles of trees.]

[Estelle nods and looks up at the sky in hopes of spotting the lightning. After a moment or so, she manages to see an arcing bolt above the trees. She makes a little excited gasp and turns the journal towards where she had seen it. Getting to her feet, she also begins to stumble in that direction.]

[Judging from the direction she saw the lightning coming from, she had to assume she must be somewhere south of the village.]

Alright... I'll keep firing lightning bolts... you just keep coming towards them alright? I'll be coming towards you too!

[Judging from the distance she should be there in about ten minutes if her calculations were correct. She just hoped she didn't accidentally fry any branches accidentally.]

[ Kotomi is always oblivious.. and this is no exception. She seems unaware of Estelle's situation completely, she just waves back with a small smile as if Estelle was just greeting everyone on here. ]

[Estelle blinks as she sees Kotomi wave back, then lets out a voiceless sigh.]

[ There's a pause..

and then she tilts her head a little. ]

Good day..?

[Estelle tries to speak, but as she opens her mouth, nothing more than a faint gasp escapes her throat.]

[ Welp, Kotomi thinks maybe this is some game.. so she just imitates Estelle, down to the very same gasp. ]

[Ami is all too aware of the predicament; it had been her own death price, four months without speaking. It had, at least, taught her to speak up when she should.

Well, most of the time. It's a process.

Right now, Estelle is the more important concern. Ami's face in the video feed is a picture of concern.]

Is someone coming to help you? [Regardless of the answer, she's starting to pull on warm clothes - and grab a few extras for Estelle. She'll be on her way shortly. She gives occasional glances to the journal to be sure she catches Estelle's reply.]

[When Estelle sees Ami's response, help is indeed already at hand and she nods with tired but thankful smile.]

I'm relieved. Can I do anything until they arrive? [If she seems a bit overly solicitous, well... she knows how this situation feels.]

[Estelle seems to think about this for a moment, but is at a loss for words... literally. All she can think to do is shrug, not really thinking of anything, but if Ami has an ideas, well... she's all ears?]

I'll leave you in their hands as soon as they arrive, then. Later, I'd like you to come by the clinic if you can. You seem to have been out in the cold quite awhile. I'd like to make sure there weren't any negative effects from that.

[Things have been very quiet around the Vesperia house these past few weeks. That would be because nobody's been home. Patty had already gotten restless after Estelle's kidnapping, but then Rita was sent home and she couldn't bear staying in that house by herself. She'd stop by there from time to time, yes, but it'd only be a pitstop.

Like she'd been back on Terca Lumireis, before she met Yuri and the others, she's been on the move by herself. Traveling from here to there, searching. She wasn't sure just what she was searching for. Anything that would make her feel more at home, she supposed.

Today, she's sauntering along the beach. The ocean could always calm her down somewhat. As she sits down in the sand and flips her journal open, the first thing she spots is Estelle's message.]

... Estelle? Are you okay?

[It's always good to see a familiar face, and Estelle is more than happy to see Patty's reply. Her eyes lighting up a little. She nods wordlessly, but it's evident that the princess is tired. She opens her mouth as if on instinct to say something, but there are no words, and Estelle looks a bit frustrated. This will take some getting use to.]

[Don't worry, Estelle. Patty may act dumb from time to time, but she's still got her wits about her. She catches the hint quickly enough.]

No voice, eh? That's okay. Can you navigate your way back home by yourself?

[At that question there's a slightly odd and uncomfortable look on her face. She's not sure how to explain, so she shows Patty instead. Turning her journal around, she points it towards the man who is currently with her.]

[It takes a few seconds for everything to 'click' and for Patty to realize who she's looking at. White hair, mildly stuffy demeanor... Oh.]
